Track and Field - Congratulations to Maurice Freeman, who won the prestigious Coaches Invitational high jump title this weekend at Georgia Tech. Maurice defeated 33 of the best high jumpers from Georgia, Alabama, and Florida with a leap of 6’ 8” in a competition that lasted over 4 hours.
        Other Patriots with a top 20 finish this weekend were Aubrey Fearnow, 7th in the shot put (35’ 7.5”) and 9th in the discus throw (107’ 7”); and Justin Whitman, 14th in the 2000m Steeplechase (7:13.15); Dede Fleming, 18th in the triple jump (32’ 3”); the boys 4x100m relay (Sherman Williams, Maurice Freeman, Kendrick Presley, and Josh Swain), 17th (44.14); and the boys 800 sprint medley relay (Sherman Williams, Deuntrez Fleming, Tron Armstrong, and Maurice Freeman), 20th (1:37.31).
        OC’s next meet will be at Madison Co., Tuesday, March 20th against Madison Co, Hart Co an Elbert Co.
