Girls Soccer – The girl’s varsity soccer team defeated Elbert Co yesterday 1-0. “It was very frustrating,” said Coach Rindone. “They put every one of their players in the 18 yard box to prevent scoring because they have been getting beaten all year. It was like trying to beat down a brick wall. I quit counting shots on goal after 25. Jeri Edwards scored our only goal.”
OC (6-3, 2-3 region) will travel to North Oconee (3-3, 1-2 region) Friday, March 23rd playing the early game.
Boys Soccer – The boys played Elberton following the girl’s game and lost 1-0. OC neutralized Elberton’s speed and the only score came on an Elbert penalty kick. “We did everything right, but win,” said one OC player after the game.
The OC boys (3-7, 1-4 region) also travels to North Oconee (5-3-1, 3-0 region) Friday, March 23rd playing the late game.
