Varsity Baseball

Varsity Baseball – The Patriots traveled to Eatonton to take on future region rival Putnam Co yesterday and came home with a 5-3 win.
From the box scores it looks like nearly everyone got some offense going for OC.  Clay Ogle was 3-4 at the plate scoring a run, which helped his cause on the mound.  Ogle (1-1) pitched 7 innings allowing three runs two of which were earned.  There were eight Putnam hits, no walks and 14 strikeouts.  OC committed three errors to Putnam’s two.
Following Ogle, Nick Mathews scored a run and was 1-3 for the day.  Matt Beyatt was 1-2 with an RBI, Tee Hull was 1-2 and scored a run for OC.

J.D. Sharp scored a run on a 1-3 day.  Taylor Liedberg had two RBI’s and Christian Conrad contributed another RBI.  OC scored runs in all but the third and fourth innings.

OC is now 2-1 for the season and travels to Cedar Shoals on Thursday, March 2nd for JV/Varsity double header.  The JV game starts at 5:00pm followed by the varsity game.
