Athletic Boosters – The Athletic Booster’s held their regular monthly meeting Monday. Laura Abney and Nick Mathews were recognized as Athlete of the Week. Mathews was chosen because of his pitching performance against Putnam Co when he threw a shut-out game and Abney because of her accumulated accomplishments for OC’s girl’s varsity soccer team.
The Booster’s are looking for items to include in their silent auction as part of the Power Drawing festivities on May 11th. Tickets for the drawing are still available. Ticket holders will be served a BBQ supper and are eligible for some cool door prizes.
The Booster’s voted for new officers:
President: Charlie Meyer & Scott Liedberg (Co-President)
Vice President – Tina Mathews
Treasurer – Julie Noltensmeier
Secretary – Dana Beyatt
Other action taken at the meeting was approval of a request from track and field head coach Bob Finch for funding to pay for the entry fee for the track team at the recent Need for Speed Invitational in Lilburn, GA. The Booster’s also voted to require a coach requesting funding to be present at the meeting so if there are any questions the coach is available to answer them.
The Booster’s next meeting will be Monday, April 9th.
